The New Castle County Hazardous Materials Decontamination Team is comprised of volunteer firefighters throughout the county. The team is hosted by the Elsmere, Cranston Heights and Five Points Fire Companies.  Three vehicles and multiple trailers make up the fleet. 

Hazmat 16 - Carries a wide variety of equipment used in the Decon process; such as Chemical meters, detectors, and analyzers, tools, hoses, cleaning chemicals and soaps, personal protective equipment.

Hazmat 14 - Carries the teams Protective suits, boots, gloves, air supply items, and other decon equipment.

Hazmat 14 Support - A Tractor-Trailer that carries a large quantity of Decon suits and other items for large scale emergencies.

Decon 1 - Towed by Hazmat 16. A Trailer that includes a portable water supply, hot water heater, individual personal decon showers and areas to decon persons on stretchers or back boards.

Hazmat 17 - A trailer that carries additional support equipment that is needed on all Decon set-ups such as additional hoses, brushes and tents.
